The campus of Sonoma State University will remain “open and operational” during a planned faculty strike expected to last from January 22nd to 26th. That’s according to an announcement from a university spokesperson on Wednesday. About 29-thousand faculty members across the California State University system’s 23 campuses are planning to strike during the first week of the spring semester. The SSU spokesperson says the university is not cancelling classes, but individual faculty members may decide to cancel their classes. The California Faculty Association is asking the CSU for a 12-percent raise this fiscal year, but negotiations broke down on Tuesday.
