Woman Makes New Claim in Santa Rosa Fatal Hit-and-Run Case

A woman from Santa Rosa claims it was her ex-boyfriend who destroyed her SUV after she killed an 18-year-old man from Cloverdale in a hit-and-run collision last August. That’s according to a sentencing memorandum the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office filed on Tuesday. Allisa Whitten is awaiting sentencing after her conviction in November. She says her ex-boyfriend burned the SUV without telling her. Prosecutors are recommending a six-year prison sentence for Whitten. Her attorney is asking for the minimal sentence. She will learn her fate on January 19th.
