Shollenberger Park in Petaluma Isn’t Fully Reopened Due to Pipeline Work

Petaluma’s Shollenberger Park hasn’t fully reopened. Restrictions were supposed to be lifted this week, after PG&E completed a key phase of a project to replace a gas transmission pipeline. However, recent storms and flooding have delayed that work with January 27th the date for estimated completion. The gas pipeline runs underground through the southern portion of the park, and under the Petaluma River. Access to the park had been limited since October. The old segment of the pipeline will be removed later this year.
