Report: California Misses Out on Two-Billion Gallons of Water Runoff Everyday

California is missing out on billions of gallons of storm water that washes out to sea each time it rains. In a new report from the Pacific Institute, researchers conclude that 52-billion gallons of water go uncollected in the United States every day. In California, the annual runoff amounts to an average of more than two-billion gallons per day. The researchers say the findings highlight the need for a paradigm shift in how municipalities manage storm water.
