Rebecca Hermosillo is going to be the next Sonoma County Supervisor representing District One. The longtime district aide for Congressman Mike Thompson has more than 78-percent of the vote. Retired Contractor Jon Mathieu has a little more than 21-percent of the vote. District One covers Sonoma Valley and eastern Santa Rosa. The 52-year-old Hermosillo will be the first Latina elected to the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors.

Meanwhile, District Three Sonoma County Supervisor Chris Coursey appears headed for a second term. Coursey has nearly 73 percent of the vote, putting him far ahead of challenger and Santa Rosa City Schools board president Omar Medina. Medina is not conceding yet, saying he’s still waiting to see results from in-person votes. Coursey, a former Santa Rosa mayor, says he does not expect any big changes as more votes are counted.

Supervisor Lynda Hopkins won another term for the 5th district as she ran unopposed.
