The University of California is seeing a surge in applications for fall 2024. The university system drew in a quarter-million applications for the fall semester. First-year applications are up nearly one-and-a-half percent from last year, with increases at eight of nine UC undergraduate campuses. While out-of-state applications dropped, transfer applications grew by more than ten-percent. Data also revealing big gains in diversity with Black applicants having the strongest growth, followed by Latinos and American Indians.
