A man is accused of injuring three Sonoma County Sheriff’s deputies as they were detaining him in southeast Santa Rosa. The incident happened last Saturday, but was detailed in a news release published on Wednesday. A 911 caller said the man was trying to break into an apartment while holding a knife. Deputies used a stun gun on the man several times while trying to handcuff him, as he kept reaching for his waistband. Deputies later found a screwdriver in his pocket. Three deputies suffered minor injuries while fighting with the man for several minutes. They were treated at a hospital and released.
