Authorities identified a man who was killed Saturday after his vehicle went off Highway 1 near Westport in Mendocino County. Vincent Joseph McKay, a 73-year-old, was driving south on Highway 1 when an unsafe turning movement caused his vehicle to go off the west side of the road. McKay was pronounced dead at the scene. The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office identified McKay Wednesday night. California Highway Patrol-Ukiah is still investigating the cause of the collision. Drugs and alcohol were not a factor.
