A pilot program that would bring school resource officers back to Santa Rosa City Schools campuses will not be ready in time for the start of the next school year in August. Santa Rosa Mayor Natalie Rogers made the announcement during this week’s city council meeting, partially blaming it on budget issues. Back in December, city officials said it may take up to six months for the pilot program to begin. Rogers says the program’s source of funding, how long it will last, and which schools will get school resource officers all remain to be seen.
