Construction of a new two-story classroom building at Montgomery High School is officially underway. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Wednesday, in a former parking lot behind the school. The new building has been planned for five years, but construction was delayed because of the pandemic and took a backseat to other higher priority health and safety projects. The building is estimated to cost 27-and-a-half-million-dollars, which will be paid with Measure C bond revenue. It will feature 17 classrooms, two science labs, all-access gender-neutral restrooms and an art display area.
