Stolen semi-truck recovered in Petaluma 4-11-24 (Petaluma Police)

A San Francisco man who stole a semi-truck has been arrested in Petaluma. Last Thursday night, officers were sent to the area of North McDowell Boulevard and Professional Drive to investigate a report of a stolen semi-truck with a 40 foot trailer attached. They found the truck and tried to pull it over but the driver, later identified as 41-year-old Glenn Hopkins, sped up instead. Hopkins couldn’t control the semi and began weaving over the entire roadway, striking the center median, a tree and a road sign. He gave up the chase in the area of Colombard Road. Hopkins was charged for possession of a stolen vehicle, evading a police officer with wanton disregard for safety and hit-and-run causing property damage.
