Sword confiscated from Shane Hulbert (Santa Rosa Police)

A Santa Rosa man is under arrest after allegedly stealing a cocktail while armed with a sword. Santa Rosa police responded to a downtown restaurant just before 2 a.m. Sunday to investigate a possible stabbing. Staff told officers that a man came out of the bathroom with a sword and threatened an employee, who was able to retreat and hide. Then the man reportedly stole an alcoholic beverage from a cooler before leaving the premises. Early Monday morning, officers conducting a traffic stop encountered a man “yelling and creating a disturbance,” according to KRON. A homeless man later identified as Shane Hulbert was arrested and booked into Sonoma County jail. Hulbert was in possession of the sword used in the robbery.
