Petaluma has suspended the permit of a downtown bar where five bouncers were recently arrested on suspicion of beating a patron. The city confirms Jamison’s Roaring Donkey was served a 20-day suspension notice last Thursday, with the suspension taking effect last Friday. City officials say the suspension is because the bar has failed to comply with the terms of its conditional use permit, since it’s operating without an approved security plan. During the suspension, it cannot operate as a bar, tavern or nightclub, and it cannot serve alcohol or have live entertainment. There is also a Petaluma Planning Commission meeting scheduled for May 14th, during which the city will ask to have the Roaring Donkey’s conditional use permit revoked permanently.
