A woman who was found dead along the Sonoma Coast in 1967 has been identified. Lillian Marie Cardenas was found dead at the bottom of a steep cliff, off Highway 1, near Jenner. The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office says Cardenas was a homicide victim, dying from multiple fractures to her skull and ribs. Investigators believe Cardenas had been dead for months by the time her remains were found. DNA analysis in 2023 revealed her identity. She was nearly 40-years-old and her last known residence was San Francisco.
