Joe Rodota Trail (Santa Rosa Police)

Authorities have once again cleared dozens of homeless people off the Joe Rodota Trail. Sonoma County Regional Park rangers and Sonoma County Sheriff’s deputies began kicking people out of a growing encampment on Monday morning. County officials say the number of people living on the path between Santa Rosa and Sebastopol grew to about 50 last weekend. Campers were given a deadline of Tuesday afternoon to leave the trail, but all were gone by Monday night. They were offered services and beds at Sam Jones Hall in Santa Rosa, which is the largest homeless shelter in the region. It’s unclear how many people from the encampment are now at the shelter.
