Upgrades Being Discussed for Santa Rosa’s Martin Luther King Junior Park

Santa Rosa is planning several upgrades for the aging Martin Luther King Junior Park. The park, in the city’s South Park neighborhood, is one of the city’s oldest and most visited parks. The improvements being considered include lighting upgrades to make the park safer at night, new restrooms, new play equipment and enhancements to the field. There are also discussions happening about adding an outdoor gym or smaller hard court for soccer or futsal. Renovations are expected to cost five-point-four-million-dollars and will be paid for with a state grant. The work is expected to be done by June of 2026. MLK Junior Park has not been updated in about two decades.
