A driver was arrested by Cotati Police for DUI, evading police, and endangering a child. On Monday, an officer driving on East Cotati Avenue saw a car pass them at a high rate of speed. The car had also over corrected which nearly caused the driver to go into oncoming traffic. Police tried to pull over the car but the driver led them on a chase through several neighborhoods until it approached a dead-end street in Rohnert Park. The two occupants then got out of the car and tried to flee but were detained after a brief foot chase. The driver was charged with felony evading, driving under the influence of alcohol, child endangerment, possession of cocaine, driving on a suspended license for DUI, and violation of probation. The passenger was a 13-year-old child and was released to the custody of a legal guardian.
