Organizers are preparing to launch a pilot project that will strive to keep 160 families in Sonoma County from becoming homeless. The pilot project will begin in October and is expected to last two years. The San Francisco-based nonprofit organization All Home is teaming up with the cities of Santa Rosa and Petaluma, and the County of Sonoma. All Home is expected to pay half the cost of the two-point-six-million-dollar pilot project. Sonoma County and Santa Rosa will contribute a half-million dollars each, while Petaluma will chip in 300-thousand-dollars. Residents at the greatest risk of becoming homeless will be identified by community outreach organizations.
