Santa Rosa Junior College is facing allegations of sexual discrimination within its Agriculture and Natural Resources Department. The Press Democrat interviewed a half-dozen women working within the department who say their complaints of discrimination have not been taken seriously by the college. Several of the women single out former Ag department dean Benjamin Goldstein for what they say was inappropriate and unprofessional behavior targeting women. Four of the women filed formal complaints against Goldstein, and an independent investigation sustained or partially sustained several of the accusations against him. Some of the women interviewed have quit over the alleged discrimination, and others say they are planning to.
