Heat Wave Continues Today Along with Warning for the Coasts

More triple digits are on the way today. A heat advisory is in effect for most of the Bay Area through tomorrow. Those hoping to escape the soaring temperatures and keep cool at the beach could face danger as well. The National Weather Service has issued a warning for the entire coastline except Santa Cruz. Forecasters say breaking waves could peak anywhere from 15 to 20 feet, especially at west and northwest facing beaches. There is also a chance of sudden, unpredictable surges in the water, known as sneaker waves. As far as the heat goes, today, the inland valleys of Sonoma and Napa Counties are expected to see highs in the mid to upper 90s.
