Sonoma County’s park rangers have cast a unanimous vote of no-confidence in their leadership. The Sonoma County Law Enforcement Association announced the vote on Tuesday. It comes after the heads of the county’s Regional Parks Department announced a plan to strip the park rangers’ peace officer designation. Instead, the Sheriff’s Office would be responsible for law enforcement in parks. The no-confidence vote names Regional Parks Director Bert Whitaker, Park Manager David Robinson and Chief Park Ranger Jonathan Umholtz. Park rangers are calling for county officials to replace the leadership group.
