There are more questions about the charges billed by Sonoma County’s outgoing homeless services provider, DEMA Consulting and Management. Documents from Harris County, Texas, obtained by the Press Democrat, suggest the company’s CEO, Michelle Patino, somehow worked 22 hours a day in two different states. The documents show that on several of the same days Patino billed Sonoma County for working 14 hours, she also billed Harris County for working eight hours. For a little more than two months in the fall of 2022, Patino billed both counties 50 times for work on the same day. On 45 of those days, it equaled 22 hours of work.
