Sonoma Working to Send Ambulance to Ukraine

The City of Sonoma will send Ukraine an ambulance by the end of the summer after they accomplished their goal of raising $20,000 to transport the ambulance. The Sonoma Sister Cities Association had been sending clothes, money and supplies to Kaniv, Ukraine, since the war began. Kaniv has been a Sonoma Sister City nearly 40 years. The group learned of a Chicago-based nonprofit, U.S. Ambulances for Ukraine, which, since 2022, has sent 77 ambulances and fire trucks to Ukraine. They approached Sonoma City Manager David Guhin with the idea of providing an ambulance for the project.
