Doctor Daisy Morales will officially be the next superintendent of Santa Rosa City Schools. On Wednesday night, the district’s board voted to confirm Morales’ appointment, despite backlash from some parents and staff. Earlier this year, Morales resigned from her last job as the superintendent of the much smaller Live Oak School District in Santa Cruz. She left as the district was facing financial issues and after union representatives cast a no-confidence vote in her leadership abilities. That district is only a tenth of the size of Santa Rosa City Schools. Morales, who succeeds the outgoing Anna Trunnell, will start as superintendent on Monday.
