Petaluma Bus Stop Maintenance Gets New Provider

A change in bus stop maintenance is causing a little stir in Petaluma. The city recently changed service providers from Old Adobe Development Services or OADS to MV Transportation to maintain their nearly 200 bus stops. Under OADS, they had teamed up with the United Cerebral Palsy of the North Bay, a program that gives work experience to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities which included bus stop maintenance in Petaluma. With MV Transportation, the job is now left solely to one full time worker. OADS program manager Tori Trentacoste tells the Press Democrat that participants under the old contract are upset that they don’t get to do this job anymore. She did admit there were some communication issues over bus stop maintenance and is also hopeful for further collaboration with the city.
