Crews are closing up a sinkhole that opened in a busy intersection in Sebastopol. Public works crews and a private subcontractor began the repairs on Thursday, at the intersection of Bodega and Dutton avenues. A five-inch hole was discovered in the pavement on June 28th. A city worker then took a closer look using their phone’s camera and discovered a four-foot-by-four-foot sinkhole beneath the street. The sinkhole was caused by a hole in a 36-inch corrugated metal storm drain below the street.
