
Sonoma County Supervisor James Gore is the new president of the National Association of Counties, which represents county governments across the country. Gore was sworn in on Monday morning and will serve as president for a year. He has been in an executive leadership role with the group for several years. The National Association of Counties is the main lobbying and policymaking coalition of the nation’s more than three-thousand counties, boroughs and parishes. Gore’s duties as president include setting policy goals and appointing people to key leadership roles.
