Sonoma County Regional Parks is adding another 100 acres of land to its collection of publicly protected lands. The recently purchased “100-acre Ranch” is one of the smaller acquisitions. But, it will serve as a bridge connecting Hood Mountain Regional Park and Open Space Preserve to the east and the 960-acre Saddle Mountain Open Preserve to the west. Sonoma County’s network of conserved lands now spans more eleven-thousand-acres, or 17 square miles. The newly acquired property will add to the growing size of Hood Mountain park and preserve, which is the largest of Sonoma County’s 59 regional parks and beaches.
