A pipe bomb was found in a Ukiah mailbox. Late Saturday morning, the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office was called in regarding a suspicious package in a mailbox on the 4600 block of Burke Hill Drive. After verifying explosives were present, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad was called in to assist and safely disarmed the device. Remnants of the bomb were collected as evidence for DNA identification of the persons responsible.
