Marin County’s agricultural industry faced a tough year in 2023. On Tuesday, the Board of Supervisors were presented with the 2023 Marin County Crop & Livestock Report. The total value of agricultural production dropped 9-percent in 2023. Despite this, poultry emerged as the county’s leading commodity. Organic milk production took a significant hit, while cattle and sheep values also declined. However, pasture value increased due to favorable winter precipitation. The report also highlighted the importance of climate-smart agriculture practices.
