The North Bay has been awarded more than $4-million for fire-safety projects. The money is coming from Cal Fire’s Wildfire Prevention Grants Program. It includes nearly $2-million for the Sonoma County Agricultural and Open Space District’s Northside Russian River Shaded Fuel Break Project. State Senator Bill Dodd of Napa made the announcement on Tuesday, thanking colleagues, including Senate President Pro Tem Mike McGuire for helping to secure the grants.
