There seems to be more trouble for Sonoma real estate mogul Ken Mattson. An accountant sorting through a bankruptcy claim for one of LeFever Mattson’s companies says that Mattson sold real estate to his own companies acting as buyer and seller. According to Bradley Sharp, the accountant aiding in this bankruptcy, some of these properties “were at inflated prices and conveyed properties encumbered by high-interest loans, some of which are now in default.” Sharp referred to “a decade or more of financial misconduct by Mr. Mattson.” In a court declaration, Mattson’s legal team blasted “the false, conclusory and personal attacks on me.”
Windscape Apartments LLC filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this month (August) and owns 19 pieces of real estate worth about $40 million.
