Sonoma County winegrowers are turning to technology to improve vineyard operations. A pilot project spearheaded by the Sonoma County Winegrowers was showcased at a recent field day. There was a demonstration of John Deere’s SmartApply Intelligent Spray Control device, which uses lidar technology to precisely target grapevines with the right amount of spray, reducing waste. Other technologies showcased included soil health monitoring systems and regenerative farming practices.
