A memorial service for retired Cardinal Newman High School teacher and track and field coach Pat LaFortune will be held on the night of Saturday, September 28th. The service will be held at the school’s track, which was named in LaFortune’s honor in 2013. It will end with attendees walking the track in his memory. The 78-year-old was killed on August 29th, in a 12-vehicle pileup on Highway 12 in west Santa Rosa. LaFortune was Cardinal Newman’s longest-serving teacher when he retired in 2019. He finished his career with 46 years at the high school.
