Governor Gavin Newsom has secured a grant from FEMA to fight multiple fires in California. The Boyles Fire in Lake County started on Sunday in Clearlake, putting many homes at risk and causing people to evacuate. The Governor has also declared a state of emergency in San Bernardino County. The Line Fire continues to pose a major threat to thousands of Californians near Los Angeles. The grant will support the response to both the Boyles Fire and the Line Fire, helping local, state and tribal agencies.
The Boyles Fire in Clearlake is now 75-percent contained, with the number of acres of land burned holding at 81. Over 30 residential structures have been destroyed along with 80 vehicles.
