A Santa Rosa resident has been named the new top administrator for the Veterans Home of California in Yountville. Governor Newsom has picked Holly Holtzen to run the largest veterans’ home in the United States. She replaces Lisa Peake, a former U.S. Army colonel, who retired from the role in July after about five years. Holtzen was previously California state director of the AARP from 2019 to 2024. The Veterans Home of California provides care for up to 876 residents and their spouses.
