Sonoma County residents are the 18th happiest residents in California. That’s according to a happiness report recently released by state lawmakers. The rankings are from a first-of-its-kind survey conducted by the Select Committee on Happiness and Public Policy Outcomes. Lake County, meanwhile, is dead last, ranking 58th out of the state’s 58 counties. Marin County is home to the happiest residents in the North Bay, scoring second overall on the statewide list. Napa County ranks 25th and Mendocino County ranks 33rd. Alpine County, south of Lake Tahoe, is the happiest county in California.
