The release of a suspected fentanyl dealer who was arrested in Sonoma County is raising concerns. Jose Valle-Acosta was arrested in Sonoma last Friday, on suspicion of dealing a large quantity of fentanyl. A judge set his bail at 100-thousand-dollars but a Sonoma County court commissioner decided to release him without bail, on the condition the he returns for his next court appearance on November 1st. Sonoma County Assistant District Attorney Brian Staebel calls Valle-Acosta’s release “troubling.” Valle-Acosta, an Oakland resident, was allegedly in possession of enough fentanyl for more than 226-thousand lethal doses.
