Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. Law enforcement agencies around the country will provide drop-off locations for the safe disposal of prescription drugs. Several agencies in Sonoma County are participating including Santa Rosa Police, Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety, and the Windsor Police Department. The goal is to keep medications from being misused, as two-thirds of people who do so get them from a friend or family member. The CDC estimates over 107-thousand people died from drug overdoses last year.
