An inmate at the Mendocino County Jail is dead after being found unresponsive. On Tuesday night, a corrections deputy on patrol became concerned over an inmate who was laying down on the floor of his cell. The deputy physically checked them and found they were unresponsive, not breathing and they had no pulse. Several medical personnel responded with life saving measures with the inmate later being taken to a local hospital where they were declared dead. The cause of the inmate’s death is still being determined with an autopsy pending.
