Sebastopol residents and businesses will soon have a new trash hauler. The City Council voted to award a 15-year contract to Sonoma County Resource Recovery (SCRR), despite significant opposition from many businesses.
The new contract includes higher rates for residents, but also offers additional services like holiday tree pickup and bulky item removal. The decision was met with disappointment from some council members and business owners who argued that the change would negatively impact the local economy.
SCRR will begin providing service in Sebastopol in July.
