Sonoma County Board of Supervisors Adopts Immigration Resolution

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors has adopted a resolution expressing support for immigrants, including those without documentation.

The resolution, passed amidst concerns about the incoming Trump administration, reaffirms the county’s commitment to existing state laws that limit cooperation with federal immigration enforcement.

While the resolution provides a symbolic show of support, some advocates are calling for stronger measures, such as a legally enforceable ordinance to further protect immigrant communities.

The board is also considering allocating $500,000 to support local service providers who assist immigrants.
