A Southern California woman has been sentenced to prison for leading a massive retail theft ring that targeted stores across the state, including Sonoma and Napa counties.
Michelle Mack, 54, orchestrated a scheme that involved recruiting others to steal high-end makeup from stores like Ulta and Sephora. The stolen goods were then resold online at a fraction of their retail price. The operation caused an estimated $8 million in losses for retailers.
Mack pleaded guilty and was sentenced to five years and four months in prison. She was also ordered to pay $3 million in restitution.
