Petaluma Police Arrest 38-Year-Old Man Following New Year’s Day Knife Threat

Petaluma police have arrested 38-year-old Jesus Arenas-Guevara following a series of incidents.

On December 30th, officers responded to a disturbance call where Arenas-Guevara brandished a knife at them. A warrant was issued for his arrest due to this incident and a probation violation.

On New Year’s Eve, police investigated another incident involving Arenas-Guevara, this time a suspected knife threat. A Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office helicopter assisted in the search, but he was not located at that time.

He was later arrested on January 6th and remains in custody at the Sonoma County Jail.
