Recent reports of federal immigration raids in Sonoma County are unfounded. It comes after a series of arrests made by Customs and Border Protection officials in the Bakersfield area last week.
Federal authorities confirm more than 70 people were arrested, including some with criminal records. The people who were arrested, mostly farmworkers, were unauthorized to be in California and in the U.S.
There are reports that there were false claims made of similar enforcement actions happening more than 300 miles away here in Santa Rosa.
