A Santa Rosa man, Manuel Rivera, was sentenced to 12 years and four months in prison for fatally shooting 19-year-old Connor Bundock during a robbery attempt in 2022.
Bundock’s family expressed deep disappointment with the sentence, believing it to be too lenient. They had hoped for a harsher penalty, given the devastating loss of their son.
Rivera initially faced a murder charge but pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter as part of a plea deal. The District Attorney defended the agreement, citing challenges in the case, including witness identification issues.
