New Permit Issued For Sebastopol Farmers Market

Good news for Sebastopol! After months of debate, the Farmers Market has a new permit and will continue Sundays in the downtown plaza.

The market got the green light from the planning commission, meaning extended hours, amplified music, and no more strict vendor ratios. A key point of contention was parking. So, the market will have different layouts throughout the year, shrinking during the holiday season to free up parking for downtown businesses.

This compromise follows a summer of controversy when a market expansion attempt ruffled some feathers and a paperwork snafu put the market out of compliance.

While some businesses worried about parking, they stressed their support for the market itself.
