Supervisor David Rabbitt Under Investigation By FPPC

Supervisor David Rabbitt, already facing conflict-of-interest allegations related to a proposed county property purchase, is now under investigation by the state’s Fair Political Practices Commission, or FPPC. The investigation, launched in June, concerns a campaign reporting violation.

Rabbitt confirmed the investigation, stating the issue stemmed from a missed filing period and that he has since overhauled his financial reporting team, hiring a specialized law firm. The records also show complaints filed against Rabbitt, his campaign committee, and two individuals, including a developer who made campaign contributions. The developer stated the contributions were over the limit and were refunded. Rabbitt denies any wrongdoing.

Another supervisor, James Gore, has also been drawn into conflict-of-interest questions over the same real estate negotiations.
