Windsor Service Dog Competing In This Year’s Westminster Dog Show

Windsor resident Sebastian, a 5 1/2-year-old prizewinning Great Pyrenees, is competing at the 149th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York City.

Traveling first-class with his owners, Sebastian, who also acts as a service dog, will compete in the working breed category on Tuesday. With 24 “Best in Show” victories and two “Best of Breed” awards from Westminster, Sebastian hopes to add another win and possibly take home “Best of Show.”

At home, Sebastian enjoys playful antics, like stealing his owner’s glasses and burying stuffed frogs, but also embodies the breed’s protective instincts. His owners explain the Great Pyrenees’ history as livestock guardians, highlighting Sebastian’s dual roles as a show dog and a representative of this historic breed.
