Sonoma County Board of Supervisors Declares State Of Emergency Following Recent Rainstorms

Sonoma County is declaring a state of emergency in the wake of the recent major rainstorms.

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors declared a local emergency on Tuesday. It also authorized a countywide moratorium on tenant evictions. The board is planning to revisit the moratorium at the end of this month and narrow the area it applies to.

Last week’s rainstorm, which caused flooding and damaged several homes, did an estimated eight-point-eight-million dollars in damage to the region.
